Rare Dirndl Customer Spotlight: Ingrid Jacobs

Ingrid Jacobs - DeForest, WI

I have wanted a dirndl ever since I learned what a dirndl was. I have wanted a Rare Dirndl ever since I stumbled across the Rare Dirndl website. My German heritage is very important to me. My father is full German, and I learned German in school; I love brats, beer, pretzels and polka. Not only do I love all things German, but I also love learning about all cultures and celebrating different heritages, especially when it comes to clothing. I already owned a kimono and two saris, so it seemed strange to me (and everyone who knows me well) that I didn’t own a dirndl.

I was visiting my parents in Minnesota, and we decided to go to Deutsche Tage at the Germanic-American Institute. Erika had a booth there, and I seized the opportunity to buy the dirndl of my dreams. I got an In Bloom Dirndl because I wanted the versatility that goes with it. I paired it with a royal blue semi circle skirt and a royal blue off-the-shoulder blouse.

My favorite part is the pattern on the apron. It is so elegant. The dirndl became my favorite outfit instantly. My boyfriend and I went to his cousin’s wedding, and I got permission from the bride to wear it. I received so many compliments. Wearing it makes me feel so feminine and beautiful. This may be my first Rare Dirndl, but it certainly won’t be my last.

World Cup Dirndls?! Actually just "In Bloom" Dirndls!

With the World Cup in full swing, the Rare Dirndl Design Studio windows are all set up with dirndls representing Group G: Germany, Portugal, USA, and Ghana! How did I have time to make 4 dirndls to represent each country? I used the In Bloom Dirndls and Vest and it was super easy!

Germany vs Portugal
The first game on Monday had Germany playing Portugal!

Our German representative in the window is wearing the In Bloom Dirndl with an Off-the-Shoulder Blouse with gathers, Yellow Semi-Circle Skirt and a German Flag themed custom apron!

Our Portuguese representative is wearing the In Bloom Vest with the Sweetheart Blouse with Lace, a Black Semi-Circle Skirt and Portuguese Flag themed one-of-a-kind apron!

USA vs Ghana

The next game was the USA versus Ghana!

Our American representative in the window is wearing the In Bloom Vest with the Sparkle Organza Blouse, Royal Blue Semi-Circle Skirt, Modern Bavarian Scarf, and an American Flag themed custom apron!

Our Ghanaian representative is wearing the In Bloom Dirndl with a Black Blouslette, Red Semi-Circle Skirt and one-of-a-kind apron (the fabric I used celebrates 50 years of independence... I bought the fabric in Ghana when I was studying abroad in 2007!)

All of these pieces are available online! [except the Portugal apron... which is just pinned for the window and the Ghana apron... which is mine ;-) ]

This weekend I'll be keeping a close eye on the games in order to update the scores in the Design Studio Window. If you have any questions or would like more details about the In Bloom Dirndl, simply reply to this e-mail.

Happy World Cup!!

The Newest Addition!

Introducing the In Bloom Vest!!!

I'm beyond excited about this news! There is a new addition to the In Bloom family... the In Bloom Vest! It is a black vest with black lace overlay, just like the In Bloom Dirndl, but instead of a lace skirt, it has a fashionable peplum. This vest with intricate edelweiss buttons is just as versatile as its dirndl counterpart. Mix and match this vest with the semi-circle skirts, blouses and aprons to create one-of-a-kind looks that fit your personality and mood!

Right off the bat, here are 3 ways you could wear the New In Bloom Vest:

With a Skirt and Scarf!

Paired with the silver Semi-circle Skirt, Sparkle Organza Blouse, and new
summer scarf with spikes, the In Bloom Vest is a perfect fit for any occasion!

Simple and Classic

With the brown flannel Semi-Circle Skirt, Scoop-neck Blouse with
Lace-strip Sleeves and custom chiffon apron, the In Bloom Vest transforms
these pieces into a simple and classic German look.

Support Your Team

Support you favorite team with a custom apron and pair it with
a matching color Off-the-Shoulder Blouse and Semi-circle Skirt!

So I've given myself a challenge... can I wear this vest every day for 1 week, but never repeating anything else but the vest? Challenge Accepted! I will be posting all the ways I come up with to wear the In Bloom Vest all this week on Facebook, Instragram and Twitter!

If you have any questions about the In Bloom family or are looking for custom aprons to match skirts you already have, give me a call or shoot me an e-mail. I can't wait to hear from you!

The Most Versatile Dirndl Ever!

I've been waiting for so long to finally introduce one of my new favorite dirndls. The In Bloom Dirndl is a completely new way of thinking about a dirndl. Its lace skirt without a lining may be shocking at first... but not when you think about all the possibilities that it allows for! With so many skirt, blouse, and apron colors available, you can mix and match until the end of time! Take belts from your closet, use those cute black leggings, or bust out one of mom's blouses for a little vintage flair. I've gotten so much use out of this dirndl and the summer isn't even here yet!

Confused? Don't worry! Check out the video to see how this dirndl works... and it only shows a handful of the endless possibilities the In Bloom Dirndl has.

All the choices may be overwhelming at first, but start small and expand. Start with one color group and go from there. Don't see your favorite color? E-mail and ask about a custom color group!
